Phonics Resources

Phase 2 Phonic Bingo

There are enough phoneme bingo cards for one between two, so you could pair your higher attainers with the lower attainers for team work. The calling cards are included at the end.

Alphabet Book

The alphabet book is good for reinforcing letters. The children draw a picture of something that begins with the letter on the page and then copies the letters beneath. You can then make it into a book to appear in your book corner. I'm a bit obsessed with making books for the book corner. The children really like looking at the class made, relevant books.

Writing Resources

Fine Motor Tracing

If you laminate these and give the children white board pens they can practice their fine motor writing skills independently.

Writing Frames

The blank writing frames can be used for any purposes. There are a selection of different writing frames in this document.

Tracing Letters

I made this document all by myself, although used Google to find the pictures of the different elements. The children seem to prefer to use this resource independently rather than on a focus activity.

Reading Resources

Matching Capitals and Lower Case Letters

The children are mainly using lower case letters when following the Letters and Sounds scheme so this matching game gives the children the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the upper case or capital letters.

Question Sentences

The six question words could be put onto a large dice, encouraging children to ask questions starting with those words. The question words use the phase 3 phonemes.
